Integrative Therapy

Willow Tree Counseling and Educational Center

Willow Tree Counseling and Educational Center, in Fairfax, Virginia, takes an integrative therapeutic approach to helping their clients’ heal. Clients often times rely on the therapist’s expertise of counseling modalities but fail to realize that they hold the key to the door of their own healing. Our center uses integrative therapy, to empower one to heal from within. The purpose of the therapist during this journey is to support, facilitate and walk along with them on the journey of healing. The integrative therapy techniques we use are:

Yoga Therapy

The intention for yoga and counseling is to create balance. Yoga teachers highlight both ease and effort during yoga class. Counselors provide support and challenge their clients during a session. This partnership between the two encourages a safe space to gain awareness, try on new sensations, feelings, thoughts, and behaviors.

Reiki is a gentle, simple, natural, safe, yet powerful hands-on healing Japanese therapy that works to bring the body back into balance, positively affecting the body-mind-spirit as a whole by assisting healing on all levels.

Energetic Body Dialogue

Training under Paige Valdiserri, the creator of EBD. The principles she based EBD on, is that stress, trauma, medical conditions and life-changing personal events become lodged in the “whole body” and must be released in order for the body, mind, spirit to move into alignment, thus, creating a healthy and restored connection.  This integrative healing approach can be used as a separate or integrated into other approaches.

Play Therapy

Provides a way for individuals to express their experiences and feeling through a self-guided and self-healing process. Through play, individuals can communicate their past experiences and knowledge. This integrative therapeutic approach is the vehicle for the client to get to know and accept themselves.
